In this episode, Tommy covers how every construction materials company is different and has specific needs. As a result, we must listen to our customers in order to provide solutions to fit their needs. It goes far beyond warm and fuzzy business relationships. For example, many of our competitors have great relationships and rapport with their customers, too. We respect that and feel the same, but only having a good relationship is not enough in today’s time.
Example: We’re still seeing our competitors selling outdated 15 year old / cookie cutter fleet management software. These competitors will try to make up for their lack of features and try to piece together 3rd party solutions. In the end, too many 3rd party integrations don’t always play well with each other. Once their platform begins to fails, this will create a bad experience that even the best relationship could never overcome.
On the flip side, we have seen other competitors think they know what’s best for their customers. These agencies will provide feature loaded fleet management software that their customers never asked for, all while still missing features the customer desired.
